I think this one will be better without explanation. I'd love it if you just read this, and paused. Consider. Reckon with what you get out of this before you go about the rest of your day.




And, in case my handwriting is hard to read (it is):


i feel alone in my opinion that

the horrors of this modern age are nothing new

but how can they be otherwise

when i just saw on pinterest a journal

from assyria, carved in clay, translated

(roughly): 'the kids these days are lost,

the world has gone to shit and surely

it'll be ending soon because

this can't be normal operation.'

and that was almost five thousand years ago.

so don't be shocked if i'm unbothered

by politics or education or the economy -

what else did you expect the world to be?

should not the response of those reborn

be compassion wrought out of

a watchful urgency instead of

nihilistic criticism?
